Rosé Spritz
On a recent trip to Australia, I had the most amazing Rosé Spritz at Level Seven rooftop bar in the Primus Hotel Sydney and wow, was it delicious!
It struck me as the perfect cocktail for Mother’s Day, bringing a splash of appreciation and vibrant celebration—just what we need to honor our wonderful moms (and mom-figures) in our lives. So I just had to share it here with you!
This drink is a sensory delight. It's crisp and slightly sweet with a tantalizingly bitter finish that keeps you coming back for more. As you lift the glass, you're greeted by a lovely aroma of citrus and floral notes. Visually, it’s just as appealing with its gorgeous pinky blush color that’s a feast for the eyes.
I wanted my friends to try it out, so I hosted a little Mother’s Day cocktail party to see what they think. Spoiler alert- they loved it!
Watch me make my version bellow ;- )
So, why not whip up this delicious drink and toast to the incredible people in your life who bring you joy and love- Here’s to a very happy Mother’s Day!
Cheers to you!
INGREDIENTS:
¼ C (60ml) rosé wine
¼ C (60ml) sparkling wine
2 T (30ml) Aperol
Rose water or oil (make sure it is food grade)
Splash of fresh orange zest oil
Orange peel to serve
EQUIPMENT
Round ice cube mold/tray. A round mold is ideal as they are less likely to bruise the bubbles in the drink. You can find these at places like Target, Walmart, and Amazon. But if you only have cubed trays- go for that!
Citrus peeler
METHOD
If you have a mister bottle, fill it with rose water and set aside. *Make sure you use a mister that is dedicated for the kitchen* Otherwise, follow the next step.
Fill an ice tray with rose water or alternatively, add plain water to the tray and a drop or two of rose oil to each section and set in the freezer until frozen.
When ice is ready, place one ice balls (or cube) in glass and pour over rosé, sparkling wine and Aperol.
If using the spray, go ahead and spritz with the rose mist.
To get fresh orange zest oil, use a citrus peeler to remove the colorful part of the peel, avoiding the white pith underneath, which can be bitter.
Take a strip of the zest and bend it between your fingers (skin side out) over your glass.
Swirl glass with ice ball and garnish with an orange peel or orange slices.
Enjoy!
